Bedroom / Nursery / Bathroom | | | Clothing | Using wardrobe box and metal bars you can keep your hanging clothes on their hangers, when contacting the moving company request wardrobe boxes depending on the amount of hanging clothes you've got, keep in mind each wardrobe box can contain about 2 feet of compressed hanged clothing, to prevent wrinkles, you'd might want to purchase more boxes in advance. • In case you decide not to use wardrobe boxes, each clothing should be folded and place in a suitcase or a box stuffed with clean packing paper to prevent the clothing from a mess. - Furs and other clothing made from sensitive to climate fabrics are better kept by you during the move to prevent damage.
| | | Shoes | | | Footwear is best kept in their original box and then placed in a larger box, since they are not heavy. Heels. Ornaments or other delicate shoes should be wrapped separately using packing paper to prevent damage. Do not forget marking the boxes with "Fragile – Top Load". | | | Hats | Hats are best left in their original boxes and placed in large cartons, or stuff crumpled packing paper in the crown of each hat and around the outside and pack in box using clean packing paper, heavier hats first. Pack nothing else but hats in that box and don't forget Labeling the box "FRAGILE – TOP LOAD"
| | Jewelry | | | In order to be most secured with moving your Valuables such as jewelry, coin collection and such, it is recommended you either consider keeping them in your possession during your move or if you are incapable of carrying them or feeling uncomfortable or insecure hiring a third-party armored vehicle to deliver the valuables. | | | Toiletries | Aerosol spray cans, such as hairspray or deodorant, should be disposed prior to move or you can take them with you. Other bottles with liquids should be wrapped and carefully taped shut to prevent leakage and then packed in small cartons stuffing packing paper or newsprint to fill any voids. | | Bedding, Linens & Towels | | | Use a large plastic bag to protect all your blankets, towels, sheets, tablecloths, curtains, pillowcases and other linens and pack in a box covered with a layer of packing paper. Make sure all linens are thoroughly dried before packing. | | Mattresses & Pillows | | | Mattresses will be best protected in special mattress boxes that add strength and hygiene. Pillows can be packed in clean drawers or better yet packed in boxes. They can also be used to pad other items. | | | Bed Frame | | | Taking the bed frame into parts prior to move day could save some time on the moving day. | | | Mirrors | Pictures, mirrors and other thick glass such as table top can be wrapped and packed in ordinary mirror cartons and some bubble wrap, however if they are especially heavy consider special crating. Consult with you mover. Fragile or valuable fine art and closet doors should be specially crated and handled by a professional mover. | | | Draperies & Curtains | In case your curtains or draperies are exceptionally heavy pack them separately from the linens and the best packing would be folding them lengthwise and using a padded hangar hand them in a wardrobe, or pack them in large boxes, folded and wrapped with plastic bag or clean packing paper.
| | | Rugs | | | Area rugs are best left handled by your professional moving company. - You may want to consider having your area rugs and other large carpets cleaned by a professional carpet cleaning company before your move - you'll receive them back from the cleaners wrapped, rolled and ready for shipping.
- Make sure that your area rugs or large carpets will be loaded last and unloaded first so when your furniture get off the truck they could be placed in the place you had destined them for on or off the truck without any complication and repositioning them later.
